Positive Behavior

Interventions & Support

Dear Parents/Guardians
The PBIS program acknowledges and rewards students who display positive behavior during the school day.  So many times we focus on the negative aspects of behavior and fail to take notice of the leadership and values displayed by the majority of our students at SMS.  Our desire is that each student builds a foundation for good character and grows into a leader and productive citizen for our community and nation.  In addition, we want students to realize that with positive behavior come positive rewards.
Please notice our Patriot Pride picture.   This symbol represents our school expectations which is displayed throughout the school.
Each nine-week period we will focus on attendance, tardies, grades, and discipline.  We want to give your child the opportunity to “start afresh” and earn a special reward.  Listed below are the qualifiers for student rewards.
PBIS REWARD POLICIES
CRITERIA PER 9 WEEK PERIOD/QUARTER

  • First 3 tardies result in parent contact.
